She tells stories that explore the world\nthrough a female\, queer and neurodivergent lens. Alex began her career working in\nscript development at Bazmark\, Baz Luhrmann’s Sydney based production\ncompany.\nAlex wrote and directed The Burnt Cork\, a confronting portrayal of 1950′s rural\nAustralia\, which was nominated for several awards at the St Kilda Film Festival and\nwon the Black Shorts Award at Adelaide Shorts Film Festival. The Burnt Cork was\nbroadcast on SBS. Alex also wrote and directed The Passenger\, which screened at\nnumerous festivals and was broadcast on ABC. Most recently Alex produced the\ndocumentary Amye Number 1\, which is available worldwide on Al Jazeera. Her\nscreenplays have been shortlisted for awards and development labs including the\nprestigious Sundance Screenwriters Lab. Last year she developed a new work for\ntheatre with support of Browns Mart Theatre Build Up Initiative\, which is part of the\n2024 Darwin Fringe Festival.\nAlex has also been a story producer for SPUN: True Stories from the Territory; and\nshe has collaborated on multimedia installations for the Museum and Art Gallery of\nthe Northern Territory\, Casula Powerhouse\, Beams Festival and Airspace Projects in\nSydney. \n \nCyan Sue-Lee is an Indigenous artist from North Australia. She draws upon her multicultural\nheritage and love for the natural environment to inform her multidisciplinary works.\nCyan Sue-Lee is a Gulumerridjin (Larrakia)\, Wardaman and Karajarri woman and multidisciplinary\nartist. Born and raised on her homelands of the Darwin region\, she was brought up in a highly\ncreative and artistic family.\nIt has been a lifelong practice to express herself through art. Cyan draws on her multicultural\nheritage\, ancient storytelling practices and love of the natural environment to inspire and inform\nher paintings and sculptural works\, utilising acrylic\, natural pigments\, fabric\, clay and wire. \n \nKuya James is both an ARIA nominated producer and artist living on Larrakia land in Darwin\,\nNorthern Territory. \nThe first-born son to a Filipino father and a Dutch mother\, James would earn his stage name early\nin life simply by being the eldest. “Kuya” in the national Filipino tongue means “older brother”. A\nterm of endearment and respect that he would gain not only from his biological family\, but from the\nfamilies he has made within communities spanning music\, dance\, culture and theatre; locally in\nDarwin\, nationally and internationally.\nStarting out as a bass player in church\, he went on to play 100s of gigs with bands of many\ndifferent genres\, leading him to joining a Hip Hop collective in the late 90s and realising that he\nwanted to do more with the music than just bass lines; he wanted to produce.\nJames has made records with many artists including Emily Wurramara\, Tasman Keith\, Caiti\nBaker\, B2M\, A.B Original and Daniel Johns amongst others. With a twenty year career behind\nhim\, in the past five years\, James have been committed to projects and new performance work\nwhich centre around Asian/Australian stories and are collaborations with Asian/Australian artists.

DESCRIPTION:Afro Moses live & direct on the Al Fresco stage \nWatch dɛm live with The Spirit 2+3 Band\nOne Show Only in d Night time… \nFree Entry… \nAfro Moses has a magnetic personality and a fabulous ability to enchant people with his high energy music\, powerful messages\, showmanship and colourful stage shows. His musical style included a blend of Afro beats\, reggae\, Highlife\, funk\, jazz\, raga\, salsa\, percussion\, his traditional folk music and much more. \nUsing traditional African instruments (eg. the kora\, mbira\, Seperewa\, gonde\, talking drum\, balafon – Afro plays 14 instruments\, blending them with modern grooves and technology to create a fusion of hot rhythms. The stage shows guarantee to uplift\, transport\, inspire and move everyone.  \nAfro Moses became a teenage star in Ghana and was soon producing number one songs and was the first young performer featured on the GTV national news. He was given the nickname “The African James Brown” for his funky music and dance style.  Soon after\, Afro Moses was noticed by one of Bob Marley’s tour Managers and taken to Europe. The same man jetted Youssou N’Dour out of Senegal in the 80’s. \n 	In Denmark\, he immediately made his mark taking out several awards such as Best Album\, Best Song and Best Live Act. From there\, he took his all Danish band “Ngogo Highlife &  ”Moses O’Jah” and toured the world\, including some of Europes biggest music festivals.. \n	Afro Moses has shared the stage with numerous iconic artists such as Miriam Makeba\, Salif Keita\, Ziggy and Rita Marley\, The Wailers and many more. In Denmark\, Afro Moses was also involved with the National Theatre Company\, teaching in schools and universities and performing with several bands and orchestras.  \nAfro first visited Australia at the end of 1999. His tour\, which consisted of’ his band coming directly from Ghana\, was sponsored by Triple J and was the biggest tour of any African performer in Australia. The band were featured on ABC TV – Studio 22\, Recovery\, The 10.30 slot\, as well as The Morning Show with Bert Newton and numerous radio stations across the country.   Next\, the band were invited back to perform as part of the 2000 Olympic Games\, where they performed at the athletes welcoming party and as part of the closing ceremony celebrations at Darling Harbour which attracted around 20\,000 people.\n *Afro Moses O’jah Band live\nPerformance @2000\nOlympics Games in Australia Darling Harbour …\n \n	◦	Afro Moses and band have also been in headline positions at many festivals such as the East Coast Blues and Roots Festival\, The Great Escape\, Peats Ridge Festival\, Darling Harbour for New Year’s Eve and many more in front of crowds up to 40\,000 people.\n	◦	Afro Moses was invited to compose music with Richard Tognetti\, Director of  the Australian Chamber Orchestra. Along with members from Midnight Oil and one of Australia’s most awarded studio producers\, Michael Yeserski.\nThey created music for a short film called “Inja”\, which was a nominee at the Oscar Awards in the USA in 2003.\n	◦	Afro Moses worked with Richard Tognetti and Michael Yeserski to create music for a film called “Cape of Storms” which was nominated for an APRA award in 2006.\n	◦	Richard Tognetti also featured Afro Moses at the Huntington Festival in December 2005\, which was broadcast on the ABC’s Classic FM across Australia.\n	◦	In 2007\, Afro was awarded a “Frater Award” for excellence in school performances by the Department of Education. \n	◦	Afro Moses has years of experience working with children and is known for his gentle nature\, enthusiasm and the ability to bring even the shyest child out of their shell.\n	◦	In both 2000 and 2002\, he was awarded as Ghana’s Best International Music Ambassador.\n	◦	2007 He was invited to perform as part of Ghana’s 50th anniversary of Indepence Day\, which was a major event with politicians\, musicians and other visitors from around the world. Afro performed at a festival on Labadi beach in front of 50\,000 people with Samini Batman and Lucky Dawuni.\n	◦	Afro has been personally invited to perform for the President of Ghana and his special guests on several occasions. Other performances have been with tours in Ghana\, Nigeria\, Togo etc with other top Ghanaian artists\, plus charity based festivals to raise money for Aids Orphans etc. Plus\, Afro takes it upon himself to visit and perform in hospitals\, schools and Jails when he is back in Ghana.\nGhana @50 live with Samini\n     \nAfro Moses Chooboi live in Ghana.
